One passes through the butler’s pantry to go into the kitchen.
There is a second pantry off the kitchen.

Are you going to have to have a replacement made for the door you said was of a different wood? The one you’ve cleaned up is definitely oak, so you’ll have to match it or the odd man out will look really strange. I think your speculation that the replaced door was damaged, by thieves possibly, is probably true. It’s interesting that there was a “safe” cupboard though. I wonder if there are any other little hidden areas?

The refinished door pictured above is pine. It will perfectly match all the other doors and drawers save the mysterious “silver safe” doors.
I’m not great at identifying wood types… Looks really good anyway. What are the “silver safe” doors made of, and can you figgle with them to match the rest?
I’m so glad you reversed your re-muddling of the butler’s pantry. The refinished door is beautiful, the stripped down wood looked almost new. Wish I had a butler’s pantry, can’t wait to see the final result.

It looks like you will actually have quite a bit of storage. Since you don’t have much wall space in the kitchen, maybe you won’t need a lot of cabinet space beyond that island you’re planning?
