CH: Day 51

48 hours after applying the turpentine/boiled linseed oil ‘primer’, I was able to drill a million small holes, nail in a million small galvanized nails, set a million nails, and infill a million small holes. Tomorrow I will sand and prime white with oil-based paint. All the while enjoying an audible book (Billionaires’ Row: Tycoons, High Rollers, and the Epic Race to Build the World’s Most Exclusive Skyscrapers)

Unlike Friday, which was VERY hot and VERY humid…sapping the life out of me…today was still hot (around 90) but not at all humid and with a consistent breeze. It was lovely. I even mowed the lawn!

Monday should be nice to but you will get humidity on Tuesday and then temps over 100 on Wednesday and Thursday. Your next decent day will be Saturday. In the high 80s with just a bit of humidity.

Could you work in the early morning hours, slightly pre-dawn until it is too hot or at night with flood lights?

I’m working mostly from 5-8pm as that is when the temps drop and I have shade in the front yard. After a 20 year off and on struggle to remove the remains of a rose bush it was finally out today. Hoping to dig a hole and plant an apricot tree tomorrow. Then my temps are just going to get higher every day for the next 10 days. Luckily, no humidity. Of course that also means no rain.

Stay safe and hydrated. I’m sure there are some indoor things you can do. Consult Gray for a list.

It was a nice day – I, also mowed. It is supposed to be 100+ Wed & Thurs so … probably best to get the outside stuff done before then. The siding is looking great.

Ugh! Prep work is the worst, but so necessary. After you are done painting tomorrow, it will all be worth it when you see the results.
