CH: Day 67

Friday.

Dropped stuff off at the recycling center in Cottonwood Falls.

Stopped by the antique store.

Stopped by Clark’s hardware store in Strong City to get stuff.

Stopped by Emporia Hospital to get a blood work test (results: blood clotting too low; medicine thus adjusted).

Stopped by the lumberyard to buy two lengths of crown for the Carriage House.

Arrived at the Cross House and took the adjustable adjustable triangle I brought with me to confirm the angle of the Carriage House turret. The answer? 45-degrees.

Filled all the inset nails on the recently installed siding with putty. My life is too exciting!

Got rid of a bunch of stuff on the kitchen table of the Cross House as Kenny will be dropping off some lights Saturday morning. He abhors mess so I did not want to alarm him.

Left the Cross House and stopped by the car wash. A clean car makes Ross happy.

Stopped by grocery store.

Arrived home. Napped.

A pretty productive day there! And well rounded with the inclusion of a nap.

    You got a lot done.

I call these my “errand” days. Where it doesn’t look like anything happened but in fact you did get a lot done.

There are also “chore” days like doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom where it also appears nothing got done but in fact it did.

It’s only the “repair” days that seem to show progress.

Don’t forget to take an occasional “vacation” day for yourself, just to recharge those internal batteries.

Is the crown molding going around the inside of the bottom of the turret or the outside? The inside might be 45 but the outside is going to be more than 90. I think it’s 135 where it attaches to the house and something over 180 when it rounds the outside corner that sticks out. This is part of the math of crown molding that I hate. 225 maybe? So the bit you are doing now would be two 67.5 degrees and the parts that stick out would be two 112.5. Approximately. Everything adds up to either 180 or 360. But don’t quote me. I’ve only ever done picture molding in a perfectly square room and I still messed up a cut and had to redo. Because I was using a miter box instead of a compound miter saw.

You did get a lot done, a well deserved nap was in order.

Yes, but was it a cat nap? I’ll see myself out . . . .

I’m sure it was a cat nap. haha
