That entryway looks so much better with the siding. It’s going to be even more welcoming when the porch you envision is in place. I can’t believe how much of a difference reorienting that doorway has had on the house.
A couple of questions…what is the piece with the small roof next to the boarded-up window on the 2nd floor – just to the left when looking at the picture? Shouldn’t the door open into the house against the wall, rather than into the foyer, or is this a temp door? It is looking great and I still plan on making a trip to see all your beautiful work. Tell Kenny I miss seeing him.
What’s with the boarded-up window above the door? It looks like it might be more serious than just a broken or missing pane of glass, but I don’t remember reading about it.
Hi, Brian! That’s a boarded-over door. It used to offer entry to the roof of the circa-1921 porch which I removed in 2014. I will later remove the door.

Hi, June! Yes, the door will be replaced by one with beveled glass (the current one has a plastic panel), and will open to the right.
Ross you are making astonish progress in spite of the elements and your well being:-)
