CH: Day 97

Today I set all the nails, and filled the holes.

I also…oh, the horror…started installing…gasp…vinyl siding. At the lumberyard where I have shopped for 26 years, a man wrote down my order, stopped, looked at me, looked at what he had written down, and looked again at me. I hung my head in shame, “I know! I know!”

WooHoo all the nails set and holes filled. Don’t be so hard on yourself, the vinyl is only temporary. And it will look better than peeling paint and bare clapboards. The lumberyard employee must have thought, what is this world coming too? haha

Moving on. Wood conditioned, nails set and holes filled. By the time that side is completely painted the siding will be installed on all of the other walls. Just close your eyes and murmur “temporary, temporary.”

Rest easy, Ross. The temporary siding will protect the exterior from further damage until you can do it the way you WANT to do it.

“I hung my head in shame,” statement just cracked me up. I can just picture you doing that. You’re still a wonderful purist and we all know it.

This is too funny – small town living – giving the lumber guy a laugh for the day.
