Trump spent eight years claiming that the economy under Obama was terrible. This, like almost everything Trump says, is a lie.

Trump has also constantly bragged about how well the stock market is doing since he was installed in the Oval Office. The market has done well, but Trump conveniently ignores the market wave handed to him by Obama. Trump, and his supporters, believe that the market was terrible the day before the election…but amazing the day after.

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

George W. Bush ruined the economy and the stock market crashed. This is the mess he left for Obama. But you can see here how, almost immediately after Obama was inaugurated, the market improved. And it kept improving. And improving. And improving. And THIS is the gift he left for Trump.

This is a fascinating graph. The blue line is how the market performed during the first fourteen months under Obama. The red line is how the market has performed during the first fourteen months under Trump. One of these is better than the other.

Trump supporters are ALWAYS telling me how great the economy is doing since Trump. “He’s creating SO many jobs!” Yet, there is zero evidence to support this. Indeed, the evidence proves that the job market slowed under Trump. But his supporters don’t believe this. And they will NEVER give any credit to the Obama economy. Yep, there are none so blind…

  1. My own mother is a diehard 45 supporter. I’m nicking these graphs for ammo next time she tries to tell me how wonderful everything is since he took office. Thank you!

  2. These people are going to be miserable in their OMG AMAZING TRUMP ECONOMY when their healthcare goes away. Can’t work when you’re sick and dying! Can’t buy things when you’ve been bankrupted by medical bills!

And they’ll find a way to blame democrats, I’m sure.
