Those windows are simply stunning. How exciting to have them both repaired, restored, in place and looking gorgeous. There was much rejoicing in the land!
Looking at the windows from the inside, you can really tell how well (and right!) the outside colors are! And, how much they compliment and bring out the tones of the warm oak colors of the front doors. Wow! And I Definitely like the black trim. It really sets everything off. Niiiice!!
The numerals are especially fun! So vividly contrasting with the background on the exterior and yet so integrated on the interior. Beautiful.
What a splendid welcome to all that sets foot in the Cross House
Beautiful!
So stinkin gorgeous! Ah! Stay well, Ross!
The colors are lovely! Quick question, I just noticed the hinges of the solid doors. Do you close those doors or are they storm doors?
I’m not sure what you mean, Leslie. The hinges of the solid doors are not visible in the images. One can see the spaces where the hinges for the screen doors were. These doors are currently not installed.
Will they be installed? In other words, do you have the original?
That’s how I remember that welcoming entrance. Just gorgeous, Ross!
I can’t even imagine how dazzling and satisfying that is in person!
Brita:
Albeit, the pictures are always so beautiful and Ross cultures them so amazingly well.
However the magnitude, enormity, artisan ship, creativity and just plain exquisite art πΌ are no match for the being present.
I have never forgot entering Emporia KS and with my Google map saying, βyou have reached your destination,β and looking up to a brightly lit be- jeweled presence that isβ- the Cross House.
It is such an amazing magnificence!
Due to its gargantuan size, it takes walking around the perimeter several times at a distance…. to fully appreciate the whole.
I remember Ross bounding down those lovely old stone steps and running toward me…he looked Lilliputian next to Cross House. Hahahaha! Well not really. Ross is an attractive, nicely proportioned handsome man. Not a small or little person. Cross a House is just so immense. π
Yes, if ever able to see in person it is well worth the effort to get to Emporia.
What a wonderful description! I hope to get to see it in person sometime.
I hadn’t realized that the inner transom was also stained glass. Wild!
Beautiful! Youβve inspired and educated me about black window trim. We got a bid on replacing our cheap aluminum builder-grade windows on a 20-year-old house and I REALLY want black window trim. Our brick is shades of red with some black and I think the black edged windows would look more elegant and harmonious than the white vinyl. But itβs $2K more on an already very expensive project.
I live my vicarious dream of saving a gorgeous old Victorian through you!
Thank you for using your incredible gifts to restore the Cross House and share the joy and expertise with the blog. Stay healthy and donβt despair.
Absolutely stunning! I sighed with appreciation upon seeing this!
Another bit is back in place!!
WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!
I drove by yesterday and it looks even better in person. So happy to see all the bits coming together. The south side of the house looks fabulous, too.
Oh Happy Day!! How wonderful and gorgeous and scrumdillyicious!! I am fairly dancing with excitement!! You are so so so the right person for this house!!! Thank you! ππππππππππ
Wonderful!!
