For Sale

.

Today…at last! at last!…I got my 2010 Town & Country presented for sale.

In 2010, the car had a base price of $28,425. There were $7,700 worth of options added, for a total of $36,125.

In addition, I installed a tow hitch, and a NOVERO audio system.

I have poured almost $4800 into getting it ready for sale as I could not hand the car over to somebody knowing XYZ either needed fixing STAT or fixing soon down the road. Like, it ran just fine with original catalytic converter but it was obvious something just was not right. So I had a new one installed. And other things necessary when a car gets to 189K miles:

  • New muffler
  • New resonator
  • New front oxygen sensor
  • New EGR valve
  • New fuel pump
  • New transmission solenoids
  • New air filter
  • Tuneup
  • Oil change
  • New windshield
  • New rear window

Prices for the year, model, and trim level are all over the place, ranging from a few thousand to $30,000, depending on condition and mileage. I am asking $8900.

I would describe the body condition as FAIR.

I would describe the interior as VERY GOOD. The rear seats were stowed away during my 11-year ownership, unused. The only issue is some tearing to the driver’s seat (which is common).

Oh, and the gas tank is topped off.

    It looks pristine.

You kept the original window sticker?!!!!

Add a paper with everything you spent on everything you replaced or had done.

Unless you have some major rust, dents or scratches I’d say your body is very good and your interior is excellent. Yes, it has high mileage but has also been serviced and maintained very well.

I think you should ask more but you know your market.

    Love the color.

I’ve got a 2008 Prius (pkg 5 with everything but leather) with a little over 90,000 miles on it but I’m keeping it until it falls apart. My next car is going to be an EV. That will probably be the last one I drive until I can’t drive any more.

What are you going to drive when this is gone? Do you have a second car or are you contemplating a purchase? Given your current activities, a small pick up or a van?

      Hi, Mary!

“Add a paper with everything you spent on everything you replaced or had done.”

That is next to the For Sale sign.

Earlier in the year I purchased a 2021 Toyota Sienna hybrid. Love it. 36 miles to the gallon!

Given your location, have you given thought to installing a block engine heater for the Winter?

Excellent price. Too bad we live in mid-Missouri–my son-in-law needs a new car, one large enough to haul books around (he and my daughter own Yellow Dog Bookshop in Columbia, MO). Sigh. And, may I just say, what a lovely man you are to be SO generous, I mean the tank is full! You’re a star, Ross. One of these days I want to travel to Emporia and meet the house and you!

Mid-Missouri isn’t far away, Susy! Just drive your my son-in-law to Emporia! And I’ll give you a tour of the house!

Yep. Nice excuse for a road trip and that Sienna would be perfect for keeping a book store stocked.

I’ll bet you’d even throw in a free tour.

Wow. Pristine looking. And the stuff you had done! You know your market but here in PA that would be 15k all day.

Same here in So Cal. Especially with all that work already done. For 13 years old that car is pristine.

Mary, the car isn’t pristine. The exterior is, as noted, fair. There are dings and small dents, and some rusting. The interior looks very good. Mechanically the car is very good.

Anything in such wonderful condition & under 10K, I’d assume it’s a high milage thing. Still Ross, with your upkeep & extras, they’ll get a sweetheart deal. Hope you get it – you need a cozy cash cushion for winter. Yep, like it or not (I sure don’t), colder days are around the corner. One less vehicle will be one less thing to occupy your thoughts. 🌻
