FOYER: Day 2
Today, I tracked down all the trim related to the foyer. Left is the trim for the entry. Middle, on the floor, are the bits to the small diamond window. Right are the bits to the large window.
This week I will begin installing insulation and then sheetrock. It will be nice having the foyer not looking so pulled apart.

You are lucky to have so much of the original trim, whether you took it apart or it was previously stored. When I removed trim on my house invariably it split or broke from being so old and dry, no matter how slow and careful I went.
Now that you have a plan work will go so much faster. I think the Carriage House languished partly because you hadn’t quite decided what to do, so it was difficult to decide where the start. Now that you have had your hand forced by the city and that is over, you have a clearer idea of what you want so it will be faster to get there. I think decision number one, you want it rented for income, is the best incentive for getting everything else done.
Mary, the Carriage House has languished because the Cross House has been all-consuming.

Let me know if you’d like a volunteer to tidy up the stairs. I’m absolutely on board to take Murphy’s Oil Soap* and every rag in my arsenal to wash the balustrade and the stairs. That wood will clean up and be so pretty!
