FOYER: Day 3, 4, and 5

DAY 3. I began insulating the foyer. Why, I do not know as the whole house is uninsulated. But, old habits are hard to kick. Then…zounds!…The Other Justin came by! He said he will finally get all the floors finished in the Carriage House! We ended up talking for 2 hours, catching up as we last talked 2 years ago!

DAY 4. Insulation finished. Yes, not much done but as per the rules of my wold famous patented Baby Step Method™, any forward movement earns one a gold star.

DAY 5: Egads! Sheetrock! I like how, in an instant, the foyer looks less ravaged.

Yes, you insulate when the opportunity arises. Every little bit helps. Not just for cold/heat but also sound.

Funny, but with the wall laid bare to the studs, that’s all you saw. But now with even just that piece of drywall now you just see the window. And what a view. It is like a picture postcard with the snow covered walk and trees. The Carriage House really has stunning views out that window.

The foyer looks so much better with the door moved. Those baby steps sure work. I’m 72 in March and trying to get rid of stuff. I figure if I do a little every day it will eventually be done or my sons will have less to clear out when I’m gone.

Holy cow! That entry is just to DIE for! I really love how the pillars create a frame around the window frame. And those stairs are so gorgeous. Good decision on changing the door to the side. The drywall really looks great too. Way to go Ross!

What a difference! Even unfinished and unpainted, having the sheetrock up really makes the foyer shine!

It really does suddenly look so much better!

Has Other Justin always so strongly resembled Sean Connery, or is it the lovely hat?

I love seeing framing get covered up. Instantly makes a place look like it’s going somewhere. ☺️
