Gifts From Fairies
Today, while cleaning up the main floor bathroom, and then reinstalling all the trim which was removed over a decade ago, I made a startling, and wondrous, discovery.
Scroll down…
And guess how many corner blocks I need?
FIVE!
I need two for the servant’s hall, one for the kitchen, and two for the butler’s pantry.
Five.
And fairies graciously tucked them away in the bathroom.
Now, you might say: Ross? These are simply blocks which were removed years ago.
But, that is the miracle. You see, I am only missing a single block which was there in 1894, the kitchen block. The two needed in the servant’s hall are for a window which I created. And the two needed for the butler’s pantry are for a doorway I created.
And today…five blocks just…appeared.

So, while they are at it, might your fairies find the missing door pulls? Just a thought…..
Maybe those fairies will get to work finding that window hardware you are missing!!
Ask, and ye shall receive. Your house is blessed!
Blessed indeed!
Magical!
A Christmas Miracle!
Ross, you will find a non-decript box one day full of window pulls! It will happen!
This is so cool! But aren’t the four blocks missing somewhere else?
Ross, you are making the universe a better place and sharing it with all us readers. It’s only fair that the universe share back. It’s a law or something. Conservation of energy? Thermodynamics? Gravity? Umbrellas? One of those.
You didn’t specify where you found them. Were they stacked neatly in a corner of the bathroom that you were working on, in a box, or did the fairies drop them in your lap out of thin air while you were eating your lunch? It could hurt if the fairies were to drop twenty three sash pulls on your head while you are sleeping. Any way, I am very pleased for you. The originals beat reproductions every time.
Why were there five if the house was only missing one? Not that I’m looking the gift horse in the mouth!
