I Have To Laugh

Because of my business, I log into Paypal pretty much every day. The above image is currently on their home page. It makes me smile, for this interior is what I spent two years looking to buy: a classic mid-century modern home. I looked at mid-century homes all over Kansas seeking the perfect 1950s jewel. In the end though, I purchased…

…this. Absolute proof that I am absolutely insane. Do I regret the purchase? NO WAY, man! Whoee! I still adore the 1950s but am now rather an 1890s kinda guy!

I’m so glad you went Victorian because I love reading your blog. To be honest if it were about a midcentury modern….I probably would have never even started reading!!!

Sometimes I have to remind myself that every style was cutting edge modern in its day! Jefferson and Washington were constantly updating their abodes with the latest tricks and technology.

No doubt Dwell Magazine will seem quaint and hopelessly dated to our great-grandkids, except the nerdy crazy ones who are into that “Millennium Modern” thing and trying fruitlessly to source circuit boards for the archaic Nest thermostats they want to restore…
