I Spy…

…a bunch of large bits of cardboard in my car.

Yes, you are thinking: Huh?

But this is an extraordinary development. For, it is step one of…drum roll, please…THE CREATION OF THE MAIN PORCH LATTICE!

OMG! OMG! My whole body is atingle.

The cardboard will be used to create templates of the curved portions of the porch. Then, Dr. Doug can make the ‘backer braces’ (curved horizontal boards) to hold the lattice.

OMG! OMG! My whole body is atingle.

Hooray for the manifesting of the Vinyl and beginning of the lattice! So many of us, even the silent, are rooting for you each week. Keep the faith.

And your prose is downright addictive and, even when at a low ebb, the perspective is so…Ross. Doggedly determined and so clever.

    THE MAIN PORCH!!!!!!

I feel like the house is gonna look, like, 5000% better after this. Sometimes it really is the small bits, the side porch looks so amazing as it is with the lattice on it, so I can’t wait to see this extrapolated up to the main one.

You needed cardboard? Big Pieces of cardboard? Man I could have sent you boxes of the stuff. Literally a big empty box that was cardboard.

What I’ve been hoarding is going to be going on the bottom of my two soon to be constructed raised beds bringing my total to four. Hopefully after they are constructed I won’t need to buy anything else that arrives in a big, huge box.

BTW if you get large subscription deliveries from Chewy those boxes are a fair size and can be taped together to make even larger expanses of cardboard. I know you buy a lot of cat food and kitty litter. I get two large bags of dog food once a month.

Ooh! I don’t understand how this will work. But I’m betting as the process gets going and you post more explanations and photos, it will make sense to me. Regardless: It’s progress! More Baby Steps(TM) into big accomplishments!
