Inching Along

Yesterday. The upper/lower porch rails were scraped, sanded, and primed.

Today! Rails painted! It’s amazing that these are 123-years-old!

Yesterday. Never-ending door almost fully stripped.

Today. Never-ending door fully stripped. Squee!!!!!!!! Now I have to stain it and then varnish. I am SOOOOO excited that it will soon be finished.

Today. I primed half of the railing spindles (the primer dries clear). VERY tedious. So, thank God for audible books! I am listening to this.

    What voluptuous spindles you have!

You reminded me of a quote from Shakespeare: “Zounds! What mounds!”

Are you going to strip the sill like you did on the front doors?

      Oh yes!

The never-ending door will soon be done! Things are looking great, Ross. The excellent quality of your craftmanship shows everywhere. The Cross House is becoming a Ross Home. Bravo!

Everthing looks great- especially the door!!!
Ross, why are you using a clear primer on the spindles? Will you stain it after? What sheen did you use?

I want to put some clear finish on a few rustic bird houses I have- maybe this would work…

Can’t get over how beautiful the door looks. Well, all of it, really.

The never-ending door stripping ENDED! Awesome job, Ross. It looks great, even without the finish.

Can’t wait to see the spindles between the rails in their green and gold “uniforms”, standing at attention like the little door sentinels they are!
