      HAHA! Fantastic. 😆

Of course now I also picture Ross up there on the scaffolding in the requisite garb… 🎅

Is this the last wall you’ll need to reshingle on the south side? Are the gray shingles at the SW corner of the building still serviceable? I know there will still be a lot to do on the south side even when the shingles are done. But, we are all really looking forward to celebrating with you when the south side is complete!

David, I think that the shingles in the SW corner are OK. Pray that this proves true!

Ross, your shingling work looks great!

You mentioned during our tour your rule about not using heat guns for removing paint. Here’s a review from the Journal of Light Construction of an infra-red paint remover made by a Swedish company.

Perhaps it’s something that would work for you. I find the journal well worth reading on a regular basis for its’ articles on remodeling, tool and new product reviews.

I used a combination of a Paintshaver Pro and ordinary heat gun to completely strip and repaint our last house (a wood-sided Foursquare). I bought the Cobra as my first infrared heater when working on some interior trim and windows here at our new house. I am glad I bought it (despite it’s high price), but wouldn’t replace my other tools with it. I find it’s much more effective for window sashes and trim, but can’t compete with the production rate of the Paintshaver on siding and other flat surfaces.

    Looking good!

Hopefully the warm weather holds out for you to get to a good stopping place on this side!
