Inching Along…comfortably

And a work table! The chop saw will sit on the table. It will get covered with a tarp when I leave. All my tools are being hauled up to the deck, and will spend the night in a big plastic container with a lid.
All this means that I will only need go up the ladder once a day. And down once a day.
I loathe going up/down a ladder a hundred times to do a job. And it is dangerous.
The new deck allows safety and comfort. Ross happy.
It is not just the corner as shown which needs work. The gutter above needs work. And the remaining bit of the octagon tower, just above the gutter, needs a lot of work. In short, Ross will be using the new deck for a while. Sigh.
But it will be as pleasant a while as I can make it.

This is just awesome Ross!
Every little but helps…..
It makes me smile when you have these small elements of order and comfort when trying to make right a chaotic piece of restoration…..
Bravo!
Nice deck, sun and wind screen. Your system will provide stable and adequate work area.
Just wondered, Ross… how did you haul the heavy chop saw up there by yourself?
Slowly, Leigh! Slowly!
May you always remain safe , Ross.
By the way, thank you for editing my comment as requested.
WOW! I am so impressed! It all shows you do everything in the best way possible! What a lucky house to have you!
Nifty! I love what you’ve done with the place! Lol! Anything to make the job easier and safer is a great idea 💡
Genius!
Smart! A veritable country club up there. 😉
My concern is that if a wind storm whips up, the tarp will act like a sail, and take everything down with it. Though I suppose the tarp comes down readily enough, if needed.
Apparently tool theft isn’t much of a concern where you are. I’m afraid to leave anything more exotic than a screwdriver unattended outside for more than a few minutes. This is arguably mildly paranoid of me, but there’s a fair amount of opportunistic petty theft where I live, and I’m nowhere near wealthy enough to be “donating” power tools to folks…
I don’t know, Ross…. it seems to me that you could have painted the boards to match the house and had a color coordinating tarp!
Though I AM happy to see your tarp isn’t what I call “eye pollution blue”
*grin*
Great idea Ross. It is dangerous working in that heat and blasting sun all day. Stay safe.
