The Cross House
Normally I don’t remove trim but this trim is so caked with later layers of paint it really needs to come off to do the job right. In addition, each window has sagged down, in a staggered pattern to the left. This means that instead of all the top trim being level, each piece “steps” down to the left, where the extraordinary weight of the north chimney has dragged this area of the house down by 2-12-inches.
So, when I re-install the top trim, I will install it level. This will not be an issue on the left window, nor even the middle window, but the trim on the right window will drop down slightly past the upper return. But I don’t think anybody will ever notice. So promise never to tell!
