Inching Along. In a Revealing Sorta Way

Today, I removed much of the scaffolding, revealing the work on the outside corner. Ross happy.

That is a truly magnificent house, and your efforts are amazing. Good work, Ross.

Wow, that’s incredible. You’re slowly inching your way to having the outside all painted! And all the rot finished and the windows done and the gutters. Baby steps to victory.

Hi, Ross. Amazing! I’ve been a long time commenting but I’m still watching your progress in total awe — not just Cross House, but in all that you do. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. I’m thankful for you and the example you set for all who love old houses and the inspiration for those of us lucky enough to own one. [virtual hugs!]

Mary! I’ve missed you, and was recently thinking of you!

Amazing! It’s almost odd, or just plain unrealistic, to have this side of the house looking this good. Who knew!

Wow, Ross! I am SHOCKED at what baby steps can accomplish. I love those round openings to the porch and that little window next to the porch is shining in glory now. Bravo!

We have all watched as you worked your way around from the west to the north, to the east, and now the south face. The transformation has been unbelievable; how could something so worn and derelict turn into something so beautiful? You are a talented visionary, exactly what this house needed. I am happy for you that the end is in sight for the exterior, but at the same time I am a little disappointed that the Cross House does not have any more faces for you to restore. I am looking forward to seeing what great things you accomplish inside in 2020, and hope that before the end of next year you are living in your masterpiece.

      Mike, do not despair!

For, when the exterior of the Cross House is complete, I can then begin work on the exterior of the carriage house!

There’s YEARS more fun to come!

    Your persistence is inspirational!
You just plug away at all of the jobs until they are done.
Seeing it from the good side, where completed work is dominant, after seeing so many recent posts with pictures that show what needs to be done, puts me in awe.

Little by little you’ve covered enough area for nice perspective shot! Thanks for sharing some of the “big picture”.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Wowsers, what a difference. It’s always amazing to me to view the before and after shots. Great job. Keep up the good work!

Ross, I haven’t commented for quite awhile either but the progress you are making is remarkable. I remember 2 years ago at your day after dinner looking at the south facade and thinking how much work was ahead on possibly the most interesting side of the house. Now it’s coming together beautifully.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. If travelling (or cooking),be safe.

Love the before and afters, and I LOVE that sweet porch off my favorite sewing room. The Cross House is looking so amazing, because of your diligence.. Happy Thanksgiving, Ross. I wish there was a way to clone you, provide unlimited funds, and save all the old houses everywhere. 💕
