Justin and Ross. S P A R T A C U S es

In 2015, Modern Air hauled a stunningly, shockingly heavy long & low radiator to the Cross House. It was perfect for the library, which was missing its original long & low radiator.

I had the titanically heavy thing placed in the foyer because the library was not ready for it. The room need new flooring (now done!), and the flooring then needed to be sanded (done!) and then stained and varnished (done and done!).

Because I am hoping to get the radiator system turned on this winter (squee!!!!!!!!), I needed to get the friggin’ titanic thing out of the foyer and into the library.

But how? How to move it? And how to move it without damaging the pretty finished floors in the parlor and library????????

Well, Justin and I, being fearless (and obviously insane) stared and stared at the radiator and, after much debate and some trial and error with a fair amount of fear throw in and a significant amount of cursing, managed to…

…get the friggin’ thing INTO the library. And with nary a scratch to the pretty floors.

So, it’s now confirmed: Justin and I are GODS!

Really!

The floors look great! Great idea to finish them that way. It certainly adds to the uniqueness of the room. So happy you decided to do the short curtains. Would be a shame to cover any of the great wall below the window. I’m looking forward to a photo of whole room. Great job< Ross. Thanks for sharing with us.

Ross, Spartacus was a rebellious slave, but you will likely be ruled by the Cross House forever. Incredible, astounding labors? Let’s see… the Augean Stables, the Nemean Lion, the Golden Apples of the Hesperides….and the Move of the Great Library Radiator? Freed slave? Nah. Demigods of the domestic miraculous? Undoubtedly! Ross, DEMIGOD! (Justin, too, but not quite so almighty)

The library has always held a special place in my heart, I think it is because of the fireplace surround of Robin and Maid Mariam. It looks absolutely beautiful in your color choices and the floor is perfect! You’re doing such and awesome job. I sleep well at night knowing at least one thing in this old world is being done correctly. (Sigh)!!!!
