Lilacs were my mom’s favorite too. Is the lilac tree still there at your “other” house about midway of the north property line? It was at the entrance to the old garage. My grandma always made sure we had cut bouquets every spring. Good memories!
I just got to smell lilacs Thursday when I went to the local flower shop to order an Easter bouquet for my Mom. She loves all those Eastern flowers we can’t grow here; Daffodils, Tulips, Lilacs, Lilies of the Valley. They had just gotten some in and for and extra $5 will include some lilacs in the Daffodil bouquet I ordered for her.
She’s told me more than once when she was young she had some white lilac perfume and that white lilacs smell different than the purple ones. I’ve looked for white lilacs and a white lilac perfume for her ever since but have never found it. Not only do they smell wonderful but they look beautiful.
You are so lucky to have a prolific lilac bush you can enjoy every year by bringing the outside in.
Mine, too — I love lilacs. I really miss them here in Nevada. Enjoy!
Mine too!!
It’s way too early for lilac action here in western WA. I am jealous (but I won’t be in August).

Hi, Sally.
I have no lilac bushes on the north side. The cutting in the picture came from a lilac at the SW corner. I didn’t even know it was there!

Lilacs have such a delicious aroma!
Photo made me really happy, though I’m amazed you have lilacs already. It’s very cold in NYC.
Lilacs have such a heavenly scent, too bad they only last a day after they are cut. Enjoy
Me too! Wonderful!
Ah the olfactory treat. Much love to you Ross.
