Ready For Living

Today, The Other Justin stained the sunporch recycled floor. I’m DYING at how friggin’ gorgeous this is! The kitchen floor will be stained the same.

The bathroom has a door! The bathroom has a door! It is five panels (only four are visible). It was like $90 and it proves the old saying: you get what you pay for. I think it is made entirely of paper and glue. Geez. I was able to use the original hinges which were in situ! The doorknob (not installed when the image was taken) is cheap junk. But…HOUSTON, WE HAVE A DOOR!

I had planned to install another paper 5-panel door to the bedroom but it proved too long and Justin had already left. But I knew Cody would want a door to his temp bedroom upstairs ย so he could shut in his kitties during sleep time. So, I cobbled together this highly sophisticated closing device. Cody arrives tonight.

The bed was donated in 2015. And the sheets. I dislike both, but I have taken many a nap upon both. Today, the sheets were cleaned.

And a clean towel for Cody. He will have his own sheets and towels (and bed) but all this will be packed away and might not be found for several days. So…in the meantime.
Cody embarked upon his 10-hour drive around 6PM. With two VERY unhappy kitties. I heard them shrieking in our telephone call.
I urged that he check into a motel around 10PM but he might push through. Ahhh, to be so young and crazy again!
So, on Saturday (drum roll, please) A PERSON WILL BE LIVING IN THE CARRIAGE HOUSE AFTER MANY MANY MANY YEARS!

Bravo! You are a creative, inspired, considerate and elegant host Ross.
Looks very welcoming for Cody.
Iโm sure you two have a great time together and do some cool things.
Cheers and enjoy!
Thank you, Karen!
Cody will help my business a lot, and it will be SO great to have somebody in the carriage house!
And he has kitties!
That floor!!!!! Omg love it!

Wow that is stupendous. Well done Ross. I’m sure you and Cody will be the best of neighbors.
That floor!! How quickly you were able to get alot done! I can imagine how much more now that Cody will be around. I imagine the lighting business will improve. Perhaps now you can focus on finishing your house for sale and moving to the Cross house!
Wow. After a long wait the Carriage House has been transformed into a habitable space so quickly. It will be nice to have Cody there to not only work on the lighting business but also keep the momentum going at the Carriage House.
When will you and your kitties be able to move into the Cross House. I’m sure the Cross House is also eager to contain residents as well.
How nice that once Cody arrives he can fall into bed and have a good rest before getting to work. No need to unpack his bed and linens.
All that remains is a working kitchen, depending on how much Cody cooks.
That floor is fabulous! Love how your repurposed wood looks all stained and shined. Beautiful.
And welcome, Cody! I will be in Emporia next week and will stop by with a welcome gift.
A wonderful coming together of all of the necessities: water, heat, a cozy bed, & kitties.
Hello Cody & Cats, welcome to Kansas! ๐ป
I’m speechless and proud! So lovely! Kitties heard in the background – don’t envy Cody that drive! Yes, to be young and have energy! ๐
Did I miss something? Ready for Cody, yet it seems that you don’t have a place to sleep so you can move in.
Welcome to the Carriage House, Cody and kitties. Well done, Ross. New adventures await.
Yay! Yay! Yay!
Cross HouseโCarriage House is to be occupied!!
Bravo Ross!
I am so glad Cody will be there!
He is a remarkable and resourceful finder of beautiful, exotic finds!
So happy for you Ross!
Tell Cody we need cat pics!
