Reality Really Should Matter

Republicans have been furiously blaming inflation on Biden Biden Biden. This accusation is not, as usual for the GOP, attached to reality.

See all the empty chairs? That the GOP side of the table. So, besides falsely blaming Biden, what is the GOP doing to help the situation? NOTHING.

I keep saying this: I am a proud Democrat. Why? Because my party works hard to make life better for most Americans. The Republican party though has now devolved to openly and actively harming most Americans, and to openly and actively harming Democracy. They have ZERO plans and policies to help you and I. Rather, they keep pointing to Democrats and screaming: THEY are the problem.

This is called projection.

Tragically, this works on most GOP voters, who have no idea that they are being played by their own party.

Soon, you will have a choice:

Vote Blue to preserve democracy.

Vote Red to support fascism.

Yes. There’s really no other sane choice at this time.

      Agreed, Kate.

      ROEVEMBER

Agree totally. I’m filling out my Nevada mail-in ballot next week (all BLUE) and will deposit it safely in a collection box.

I haven’t seen this but it says so much about the current state of things.

The general populous has no idea as the major media (contrary to what many would have you believe) is controlled by the far-right, and never reports on what’s truly going on.

For me it isn’t about “Roevemeber” which I support, not about the economy (which history shows does much better under Democrats), it isn’t about LGBTQ (even though I am gay), it isn’t about immigration, police reforms, and women and minority protections. I could go on.

For me, it’s about the fact that, at the end of the day, the Republican party, AS A WHOLE, tried to overthrow our government and they WILL continue to try to continue to do it unless the Democrats win in the midterms and in 2024.

The rest won’t matter if we do not hold Republicans accountable for what they did an are continuing to do.

Gary, thank you. I wholly agree.

Republican candidates are openly stating that if they don’t win in November they will declare that the election was stolen. This, even though they were always 10 points down in the polling.

Republican governors have openly stated that if the elections in their states don’t go as they think they should, they will declare the results invalid, and simply install who they think should be the winners (all Republicans, of course).

The media should be having huge headlines about this (as they did with Hillary’s emails) but instead they damn Biden for inflation and report GOP nonsense about drag queens.

The media is 100% aiding and abetting the GOP to destroy democracy and I have never been more afraid for my country.

I have been listening to Rachel Maddow’s podcast, “Ultra”, which has been detailing the attempts to overthrow the U.S. government in 1939-1940 and force the nation embrace Hitler’s fascism. Same insidious players – white supremists, Christian right factions, political extremists working from within the government itself. Same tools, propaganda, antisemitism, anti-immigrant, othering, fear mongering, demonization of democrats, the infiltration of extremism into all levels of government and law enforcement.
It’s scary to realize that history has been repeating itself.
There’s only been 3 episodes so far, but I do get some comfort in knowing that the U.S. has faced this kind of crisis before and has managed to overcome it.
So, I have my fingers crossed for you guys.

      Thank you, Paul.

This was just reported by the Washington Post:

“If the midterm elections degenerate into chaos in acouple of weeks — a very real possibility — then Nevada is poised to lead the way. Indeed, the chaos here has already begun. The election supervisors in 10 of the state’s 17 counties have already quit, been forced out or announced their departures. Lower-level election workers have quit in the face of consistent abuse. The state’s elections staff has lost eight of its 12 employees.

Officials expect the eventual losers of several contests, perhaps a dozen, to contest the results, and they are bracing for the possibility that conspiracy-minded county commissioners might refuse to certify the results, as several threatened in 2020. This raises the likelihood that the state legislature could step in and throw out the results in any contested state election, from Assembly up to governor, and install the candidate of their choice — something that is allowed under Nevada law.”

Note how the Post doesn’t mention that all this is being caused by…Republicans.
