America was attacked by violent terrorists on January, 6.

What happened shocked me.

But, unlike 9/11, the terrorists were not from another country.

The terrorists are American citizens. The terrorists are Trump supporters.

And this scares me even more than what happened on 9/11.

Today, I watched the following by Matthew Cooke. It brilliantly sums up all my thoughts.

That’s Matthew Cooke. He is amazing isn’t he.

      Yes, he is, Annette!

He could read the dictionary and I’d be mesmerized!

    Love it. Thank you!

Military Intelligence and Judicial Court indictments are not supporting some of these common narratives.

The sky can be green before it hails. When it is, head for cover and keep safe.

    May you be blessed.

If this is way out of line, my apologies. I’ll understand if you don’t allow this but…

Nearly 400,000 people have died due to the incompetence of one man and the delusions of his followers, the conservative media, and the Republican cult. These deaths are on every single one of you that haven’t woken up to the lies your leader has spread. To the narcissists of America that decided their rights were being violated when asked to wear a fucking mask, those that turned the pandemic into a political issue, called it a Democratic hoax; the conservative media spouting Trump’s lies on Covid, the lies about Democrats, Biden and the election fraud; that did not condemn the terrorists that stormed the Capitol and those in attendance; that continue supporting the most evil man to hold the title President of the United States…fuck you. I hope the rest of your delusional lives you feel the weight of what you’ve done. I hope you can’t sleep at night. That you start the day feeling that black hole in your heart. If and when you wake up from your delusional world, it may be too late for many of us to ever forgive you.

      Amen!

    • Ross on January 17, 2021 at 11:24 am

Kelly! I love this side of you!

What also infuriates me are Republicans who dismiss Covid and masks, yet who wanted to lock Hillary up over four people dying in Banghazi! So, they ignore 400,000 deaths, many caused by their inaction and at the lies told by their cult leader, yet they gleefully blamed Hillary for four deaths.

And those four dead? Their deaths were the direct result of Republicans in Congress refusing to allocate additional security funding for embassies and diplomatic compounds. Instead, they blamed Hillary! They had TEN hearings! TEN! And grilled Hillary for ELEVEN hours in a televised hearing! ELEVEN hours!

Also, for decades we’ve heard from Republicans:”Every life is precious!” This has now been fully revealed to be bullshit. The Republican party could care less about life. All they care about is power, letting the rich get richer, and letting corporations do what they want. The rest of us? They don’t give a fuck.

I’ve done several posts showing how the Democratic Party has helped improve the lives of most people in America. A long list. And the number of things Republicans have done to improve the lives of most Americans? Zero.

      Zero.

And now Republicans are actively killing people.

I know, it’s mind boggling their reasonings.

A family member voted for Trump because she said she can’t vote for someone that supports abortion. I asked her why the lives of the people that have died because of his incompetence don’t matter, that all the women that have accused him of sexual assault are overlooked, the way he sexualized he own daughter and the daughter of his friends. She won’t hear it, God told her to vote for Trump.

I’m sure God has a few words for those that support an anti-christ like figure that they are always on the lookout for. I say I don’t get it but I do, they are completely brainwashed.

Another family member said all she saw that day of the terrorists breaking into the Capitol were just people that were pissed off. When presented with facts she tells me she’s done her research and doesn’t have to defend her beliefs.

Another sibling was saying that everything Biden says is a lie, show him where Trump has lied.

I don’t think people like my family can ever be reasoned with. They are so deep into hate, I can’t see redemption for what they’ve supported.

        • Ross on January 17, 2021 at 12:35 pm

Kelly, you wrote: “Another family member said all she saw that day of the terrorists breaking into the Capitol were just people that were pissed off.”

A Republican recently said the same thing to me.

I replied: “What if the people breaking into the Capitol had been Black?”

He got really angry. “They should have been arrested!”

          I just shook my head.

I’ve mentioned previously that, in my experience, Republicans are immune to facts. And this is a danger to America.

          • Kelly on January 17, 2021 at 12:44 pm

Yes, the same family member said that about BLM Protests, that they should have been arrested, etc. We were not raised to be racist but apparantly she’s turned into one. I think that’s the main reason she supports Trump, she agrees with his racist views and how he has treated immigrants and all other colors.

          • Ross on January 17, 2021 at 12:51 pm

Many, many studies have been done on Why People Support Trump and they all come to the same conclusion: racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and misogyny.

As my mama always told me: Like attracts like.

You are not alone, Kelly! My parents are devoted to Trump, and at some point, brainwashed all three of my adult children into the cult. It has ripped our family apart to the point that my wife and I were not invited to my father’s 80th birthday celebration this past weekend. My youngest son has even moved in with my parents; he is 20, and drives around town with a Trump flag flying on his truck. It makes me sick…I don’t fight, I just calmly present facts; they become enraged, then retreat and come up with something else to throw at me. I’ve asked them to stop talking about it, and then they congratulate themselves on having beat me. It is to the point that my wife and I are seriously discussing selling our old house and moving to Florida when I retire next year if things don’t improve. Trump may be out of the White House after tomorrow, but I fear that he will still be in my house for a long time to come, and I don’t know how to get rid of him…

    Brilliant and sad.

      Agreed, Nora.

What an excellent commentary, Matthew Cooke is spot on. What is really terrifying are the Republican congress people that helped plan the traitorous protests at the Capitol and support these morons. And there are SO MANY of them. God bless Joe Biden, he has his work cut out for him.

  7. Linda A. on January 18, 2021 at 3:28 pm

The problem with Trumpers listening to this intelligent, well-spoken speech is that most of them don’t know or understand many of the words he used. Not in their limited vocabulary. I have said it before. You can’t fight “stupid”.

  8. Sandra D Lee on January 31, 2021 at 9:38 pm

    Excellent commentary by Matthew Cooke!!

    Finally the madness is over!!!
