Say YES to Jadite!
A theme in the kitchen of the Carriage House is…GREEN.
This all started because of a post I did in way back in 2015. A lot of you loved this post. If you did not read it, you can here. The all-important Part II is here.
Recently, Cody altered me to GREEN (Jadite) bits on eBay.
Oh, my lust was great. I could not though swing the Buy It Now price, but was…squee!…the high bidder at way less a cost.

Oh, there’s a lot more Jadeite than that, albeit they are reproductions which make them much more affordable.
Salt and pepper shakers
Cake stands
Salt cellars
Cannisters (flour, sugar, coffee, tea)
butter dishes
etc.
As to the towels, rather than finding vintage ones, I would suggest flour sacks with embroidered designs of the period. Not sure if Aunt Martha is that old but I’m sure there are some vintage magazines that have designs for embroidering tea towels that are that period. Handwork was very popular. Needlepoint, embroidery, crochet, etc.
If I get a chance I’ll look around in my stash of stuff to see if I have any designs from the 1890s that would lend themselves to embroidery on Flour sack cloth (which you can get by the yard.)
BTW, for your blue kitchen in the Cross House? Look up Delphite. I think that might be the color you are looking for.
Gorgeous! I’ve always loved that soft green of jadeite. Congrats on being the high bidder, and WINNER!
Wow, cool
wow, what a cool green. What is the material, actually? glass? plastic? some kind of coated, enameled paint metal like the sink?
Glass, JP.
It’s like green milk glass.
There is also a blue milk glass called Delphite which is just lovely.
I love a green kitchen and I can’t wait to see each little lovely piece! Congratulations on the finds!
Oooo I forgot how much I loved that green sink. The matching towel bars are just beautiful!
Lovely purchases, Ross. Thank you, Cody.
They’re so pretty! I love them as much as I love the green sink. And I love it very, very much.
