Sitting in the Receiving Room…

…at 5:30PM today, totally exhausted after spending the entire day cleaning, in a kind of coma, talking with my friend Patricia on my iPhone (“I feel like I have been run over by 8 trucks”). But…it’s a kinda cool image!

A friggin fantastic image! Displays just how richly outfitted the cross house is. And imagine how rich it would have looked with that beautiful green and gold wallpaper.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an image of the house from the sitting room before. It looks gorgeous(and very clean too!) For some reason I always thought that, at the top of the stairs, you could only turn left, but in the picture it looks like you can turn either way. Am I seeing that right? Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy After Thanksgiving Day! Have a GREAT time tomorrow and I look forward to hearing all about it!

I am AGOG! When I visited you last winter, I was speechless with the overwhelming amount of restoration work you faced. I remember seeing the sweet receiving room tucked just inside the door and thinking that SOME DAY, there would again be a great view of the majestic staircase for visitors to enjoy! THIS is it!! Such a joy to read about and see all of your accomplishments with the Cross House this year! So splendid she looks as she is readied for a celebration of friends! Have a great time today, Ross!

It’s really quite harrowing to realize it hasn’t looked this good in DECADES! Hat’s off to you, and I wish I could have made it.

Happy Thanksgiving, Ross! Wish I could join you on Friday so I could see all this beauty in person. From this view, the Cross house looks like a lovely, welcoming home again. Hope you enjoy welcoming all the fans of your house, your blog, and you and your work today. All the best from Barb

Happy Thanksgiving, Ross! I hope you and all your visitors have a great day today! I don’t recall seeing too many shots of the stairs, which I think are the crowning glory of any house. This view is a real treat! And what is this I see? A perfect spot for a grandfather clock, right there between the stair case and the doorway into the drawing room? 🙂 Hey, this boy continues to dream! Have a great one today! Cheers!
