Small Miracles

Yesterday, I finally decided to do something about the termite-damaged flooring between the kitchen and pantry. Enough!

EEK!

Today. WHOEE!!!!!!! I was astonished to find some 3-1/4-inch pine in storage. Perfect!

Under the big dining room window is a metal sill. In one area the sill showed evidence of being really abused. The poor dear. SOMETHING had to be done to right this injustice!

Trying to repair the damage proved futile so I ruthlessly removed the abused sill, and then had to repair the rotted wood parts under. And today?

Well, today the new computer-crimped metal sill was installed. And I feel GLORIOUS!

Glorious is the operative word— the computer crimped metal is perfection as is everything else you touch!

I love your approach to this whole remodeling project! Do what delights you the most, revel in the rewards, move on…
I’m thinking you shouldn’t wait too long to start re-nagging Bob about his stash 🙂 I’m very curious as to what else he has rat-holed away.
BTW, dinner was fabulous and I can’t thank you enough for opening your home to us all. It was truly a delight.

I suppose it’s funny that the 3.25″ pine boards struck a chord with me; that is exactly the size of my kitchen floor boards too! And, nearly impossible to buy now in tongue and groove….the rest of my house has 3″, and I think it was all original; not sure why the different size in this one room.

Ross, are you going to do a post about your post Thanksgiving dinner? Waiting for a great post!

Ditto! I’ve been checking every day since last Friday.

Ross posted a pix of me as the “Kitchen Goddess” right after the feast— then he sent the belated pix & the wonderful pix Grace sent of her daughters Alain & Jamaica & friend Yona the next day. Also Mouses in the House was fun as well. All of those give a view of different things.
