The finish is original: Amber shellac on pine. No stain.
Now I need to shellac the other drawer!

Looks great…I have always wondered what madness possessed our not-too-distant ancestors when the looked around and exclaimed “Look at all of the warm, beautiful wood in our house! Let’s paint it all white!”
