SQUEE Update

Democrats have retained control of the US Senate.

Democrats still have a chance to retain control of the US House. There are 21 elections (I think) still not called.

Oh thank God, Ross I heard it from you first. Now let’s take the House.

And Warnock will possibly give us 51.

Not to mention the number of states turning blue. I can’t believe Arizona might have a Democratic governor on top of their senators.

And several state legislatures have a Democratic majority now. That is where the Democrats really need to put their efforts.

I think the Democrats may end up with 215, which is just shy of the 218 they need but drives home that the Red Wave was more of a red trickle. Or tinkle if you are so inclined. With such a small majority there could be a lot more Republicans that cross the aisle just to get stuff done. I don’t think Kevin McCarthy is going to get the job he’s coveted for so long, nor is he the leader that the House needs.

I think I will celebrate if Lauren Boebert loses. That race alone is what I’m watching.

YES! I was glued to the TV last night when Nevada came through. We also have a Democratic Secretary of State, which is very important as the Republican was an election denier. I’m disappointed in our governor race, but we’ll live (I hope). Covid did in Sisolak.

I almost cried with relief when I saw the Senate result last night… but now we wait to see what happens with the House. I’m still disgusted that Marjorie Taylor Greene was re-elected – how the HELL could that happen? I understand she won her seat when there was no opponent (her first run), but now? Now that her constituents have seen exactly how insane, racist, and purely BAD this woman is, and they still send her back to Congress? And the margin between Warnock and Walker… truly disappointing that someone so unfit for leadership as Walker is could get anywhere near that amount of votes. Boebert also shouldn’t be close.

Sorry – your post was so positive, and I really do feel that way too, but it’s hard to overlook what some states consider acceptable in leadership.
