Surprises…on the Front Porch. Part I.

Recently, I did a post about having Dr. Doug make four wood corner guards for the parlor. I gave him an original guard, and asked if he could match it.

Today, when I arrived at the house, this was on the front porch. I let out a low shriek. For, the long pieces are custom-milled trim for the porch columns, and the shorter pieces are—gasp—four new guards and the original guard, returned!

The new guards need to be painted to match the faux bois finish of the adjacent trim.

I’m absurdly excited about this.

I mean, undressed corners is just…indecent.

So, having decent corners is a thrill.

how do you plan to match the faux bois? Do it yourself or an expert you’ve found.

More blessings to the good Doctor Doug, and to you Ross, and to the Cross house, and to all supporters including the Kansas Heritage Fund.
