Fifty years ago, Norway decriminalized being gay.

Fifty years ago.

As a 64-year-old gay man, I well remember how important it was to hide, for many decades, who I am.

Well, the Norway Postal Service decided to celebrate this important 50th-anniversary with an extraordinary small film. I have never seen anything like it. With each viewing I am moved to tears.

    Ross I’m crying too! I can’t imagine how hard it must be to have to live with so much of yourself being kept a secret, and how dangerous those secrets used to be too. Thank you for sharing.

    I’m not crying, you’re crying! Beautiful. So sad nothing like that would ever play in the US. I am so proud of you and all you’ve accomplished. You are a brave, wonderful soul. 🙂
