The Thin Black Line

Today. I added a thin black pinstripe to the cornice of the porch as per Zac’s suggestion. Well, to part of the cornice.

The pinstripe replaces a battered wood strip. Where the trim rounded the corners, it comprised little 4-inch-wide pieces. Dreadful. I never even bothered to paint these pitiful bits.

So, the battered wood bits had to go, and I needed something that would effortlessly round the corners. My solution? A black garden hose! I know! Friggin’ brilliant!

Zac had suggested also painting black the bit of trim above the pinstripe but I may leave it alone. It’s upper edge is irregular and this issue vanishes with green trim against green cornice.

Well, I love the pinstripe and would never have thought to do it, so, thanks, Zac!

I also painted all three of the porch downspouts. MUCH better!

And tomorrow I plan to do a little experiment…

I didn’t think it needed anything, but all of these recent changes are phenomenal, Ross.

The Cross House is looking fabulous! Can’t wait to come to Emporia and see up close what you’ve done. The black hose?……Mind blowing idea!!!!

It’s amazing the difference a thin black line can make. It ties in the black trim on the windows beautifully.

I couldn’t think of anything clever to say, so I will let this picture speak for me.
