Unexpected Gifts
Recently, I posted about Cody altering me to Jadite towel bars on eBay.
Perfect for the Carriage House kitchen. I snapped them up.

I wrote at the time: “Fabulous!!!!!!!! Now, I just need to find 1920s kitchen towels in perfect condition!”
And then Barry came to the rescue via the United States Postal Service:

How gorgeous, too! And the towel look unused. Barry wrote that when he saw the towel: “it screamed Ross and the carriage house.”
Barry also included a lovely and generous donation.
Thus, while the world is in a dark place right now, at least in Emporia, Kansas, things are just a tiny better as a quite proper vintage hand towel is now in place.
So, let’s everybody send a loud thanks to Barry!
THANKS, BARRY!!!!!!!!

Thank, Barry! Wonderful finds, the towel is hand embroidered – can you imagine?
Thanks Barry!! and thank YOU, Ross, for sharing some badly needed Good News!
Thanks Barry! They are lovely and go so well with the green Ross is using. A bright spot in the world, indeed.
Yay! I inherited embroidered kitchen “tea towels” and some feather pillows and pillow cases from my maternal great grandmother when she passed in in the mid-1950s. I was the eldest and only great-granddaughter at the time. I believe my stuff were commercially available embroidery patterns printed on cotton fabric that my ggm embroidered in the 1930s, though I’m not certain. I do recall her and other women in the family, including my now almost 95-year-old mother sitting with their embroidery hoops in their spare time…. One of my two towels is hanging in my kitchen. It states “Vitamin Parade” and has a row of fruits and vegetables with arms, legs, and faces either dancing or marching across the center. Congrats on your acquisition!
Thanks Barry!!! I can’t tell you how much it improves my day when your world in Emporia gets a little bit better. Now is a time when any good news is greatly needed!
Those are so beautiful, and how amazing that they match the jadite fixtures so perfectly! Thanks Barry!!
Those are lovely towels and will be perfect in the Carriage House. Many thanks to you, Barry, for finding them and thinking of Ross.
The crossstitched towel is a lovely addition to The Cross House. Thank you, Barry.
