VICTORY! VICTORY! VICTORY!

I saw it.

I could not believe my eyes.

Was it real?

Could it be real?

How could it be real?

I walked over to it, my whole body trembling with excitement.

Then…I reached out…and touched it.

OMG! It was real! It did exist!

And it was soon mine. All mine!!!!!!!!

You realise you are in Kansas and you could use corn cobs if it was an emergency, right? So I have heard from many old timers. Also, pages from the Sears catalogue were used. too.

Congratulations! I can’t believe after a month that toilet paper shelves are still empty most places. A cartoon on facebook reads: Year 2050 – John is using the last toilet paper roll that his parents bought in 2020. hahaha

    Well played !!!

I my neck of the woods (90 minutes N of Toronto) TP seems to be in stock. However, no eggs or flour in the grocery store today. I wonder what the next wave will be!
    Stay safe everyone.

So, so funny. I laughed til tears ran down my cheeks. Ross, I felt just the same way when I purchased my second mega package only two days apart. None for sale on line the last two weeks. Oh dear what to do and neither of my 2 guarded mega packs have been opened. I need….to buy more. Good lord who would have ever thought we would be a nation openly talking toilet paper. Yes as someone else said here about using corn cobs and Sears catalog were in my grandfather’s out houses. I just remember grandfather installing the bathroom in our house he built when I was three. No one in my family ever said a word about toilet paper, but it did always hang in the new bathroom. Grandfather did keep his two out houses always with Sears catalogs, saying these are the two finest outhouses in Greene County, Arkansas. Oh how sweet the remembrance.

Tura, my grandparents built a new house in the early 1960s, and being a modern ranch-style home, it had all of the modern conveniences you would expect in that era; they even had a master bath, which at that time was still considered a luxury. They moved in the week between Christmas and New Years, 1961; that summer, as soon as he got his new garden spot plowed and planted, the first thing that my grandpa did was to build him a new outhouse. My grandmother was not happy about this, she did not want her new neighbors to think that they were backward or anything; to pacify her, grandpa turned in and built a small building that he called “the tiller shed” on to the outhouse so that from the outside you could not tell it’s purpose. He used that outhouse till the day he died, and it is still there today, although the house is no longer in the family. I don’t recall ever using corn cobs, Grandma always made sure that there was Charmin in there, but Grandpa always had last year’s mail order catalogs handy, just in case 🙂

Mike, I think our Grandfathers were brothers. Thanks for sharing your memories.

I felt the same way yesterday. I found a 12 mega roll pack of Charmin Ultra soft and felt like I won the lottery. I was down to 6 rolls and starting to panic.

It is getting easier to find in Illinois, but most stores have a limit; I am still puzzled as to why people are hoarding it. Have they stopped making it or something? In all seriousness, it is a little scary to go to the grocery store with your shopping list and then basically have to pitch it and go into survival mode, trying to figure out what meals I can throw together with the ingredients I find.
