Before. After.

I found this box in my vast storage vaults. I have zero memory of buying it. Was a complete light fixture inside?

I hauled the box into my office.

It was obvious I had a 4-arm fixture and some non-related parts.

Emptying the box, I found 4 aluminum arms obviously meant to go with the round body and other components.

But 1 arm was broken. And this, I assumed, was why the box was put away 18 years ago.

But…mysterious music, inserted…I found two more matching arms in the box. These were bright aluminum and new. Did I years before have them cast to replace the broken arm? And, if so, why cast 2 and not 1?

But…mysterious music, inserted…I found yet two more arms. These were cast-iron but matched the obvious original arms. They also…gadzooks!…retained their original turn-key sockets and…double gadzooks!…their socket rings albeit painted white!

So, I had 2 socket rings.  I needed 4. Did I have two more in my vast storage vaults?

No. But I did have…triple gadzooks!!!!!…4, and with the original polychrome matching the round body.

This seemed beyond gadzooks and more akin to miracle territory.

Particularly impressive is the circular body. Note the exquisite filigree border! This is incredible casting!

Just beyond gorgeous. Original polychrome!

And you have the original canopy!

That is gorgeous. So from maybe three different fixtures you put together one whole one. Plus you have extra parts for possibly a future one.

I love that. Love the shape, the color. That would be perfect in my house but I have no place to put it.
