I hauled out another box from my vast storage vaults containing four, I think, 1920s sconces. Looks kinda sad, right?

 

All I did was gently polish the brass with 0000 steel wool. The sconces suddenly came alive. I also replaced the cheap-looking candle covers with more elegant ivory.

 

Even better with silk shades. In short…

 

…something MEH…

 

…became something yummy.

    They look quite elegant. They also look very quality. There is something so appealing to me about vintage fixtures that modern fixtures just don’t have.

    While I kinda like the old covers with the faux drippy candle thing they are not in the best shape and only really work with a bare bulb. I do like the shades on the sconces so much better and the new, clean covers work perfectly with them.

    Four matching sconces? Not that is a score. Someone is going to be really please to get a matching set of four beautiful quality brass sconces.
