For many many years I had this pair of sconces stored away. They are brass with a pewter finish. They cleaned up well. Wanna see?

The glass shades have delicate grape and leaf designs cut into the glass (rather than frosted) with a grinding wheel.

These belong in a nice colonial flanking a sideboard. SO classy!

That’s wheel cut glass. A favorite of mine. Popular in the early half of the 20th century. The most common patterns are flowers, grapes and wheat. I have a few bits but not shades but rather flower vases and I think a plate and some S&P shakers. I love it. My Mom doesn’t but she does have a few pieces from her Mother who used to pick them up at garage sales when they went out of fashion.

As usual, the scones are now gorgeous and being a pair, someone should be very lucky to get them.
