The Other House: 5
When my house in Strong City is finished it will have two master bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. The smaller of the two bedrooms is my current bedroom, and what was originally my guest room (room #3 from previously shown plans) but which I later converted into an expansive bathroom and walk-in closet. Both with windows.
As mentioned previously, my goal is to create a Park Avenue look on a Hooterville budget. Thus, the flooring is the cheapest possible, as are the 4 x 4 ceramic tiles. But how I used them makes all the difference. I purchased the drapes many years ago for the Cross House but never used them. The curtain and towel rods are just cheap aluminum pipes with PVC fitters. I like how they go wall-to-wall. I had the wood curtain rings in a box for years. Note the grab bar above the toilet, left. That is to hold me upright while peeing at 3AM. I did not need this when I was 30. But at 69? Oh, yes.
I can now start on the adjacent closet. Ross excited.

Exciting to see some progress!
Great progress. I really like the results.
Wow!
So excited for you!
Strong house looks so nice and the finished areas in the bedroom and bathroom look awesome!
I also have bars reinforced bars for grabbing in case I need them in the bathroom around the tub. At 73 they become very necessary.
So proud of you, dearest Ross
Ooh. It’s going to be so fancy! Love it.
Very nice, I like the contrasting flooring tiles. And that light fixture is stunning!
Enjoyed the post – Presentation is everything.
I think it looks great!
I could hardly read this post, all my brain kept repeating is “Maybe I need to build window pretty window cornices like that”…
