A Peek
Moving ahead in the foyer has been delayed due to a lack of water. I shut off the water two winters ago to save me some money but getting it back on proved…problematic. So, after much ado, the water was turned back on today.
This is helpful as, in order to proceed with the foyer, I need water to mix the Rock-Hard Putty. I have been loathe to venture many times across the snow slush mud between the Carriage House and Cross House to access water.
Thus, while being forced to sit on my ass, I shifted focus to the living room…

…and cleared the area along the west wall. The large window, far left, used to be where the small window, right, now is. I did this so that people standing on the new NW porch could not look into the living room. It is hard to believe that at some point this year this view will be GORGEOUS!

I’ll bet you are feeling so lightened now that you are free to work on what you want to rather than what the city forced you to do. You can now choose what needs to be done and in what order according to your priorities. There is something about it that just fosters energy and enthusiasm.
I’m taking a few baby steps myself.
How about you carry over two buckets of water and dip out what you need as you work? 8-10 gallons of water would make quite a bit of patching pookie. Have a third bucket for slop if need. Can you tell I grew up in a house without indoor plumbing?
Sally, excellent suggestion. However, there is a decades-age difference (no offense).
…I mean bringing containers of water when one is say, 10 years of age requires less concern about getting outbalanced and spraining (or worse) a body part, then when one is say, 60 years of age.

I am 64 years old and can carry full buckets safely so I figured Ross can too since he has manly muscles!
Hahaha indeed he does. But given the wintry conditions, safer to not lug water between 2 houses.
