A Visitor!

Brian came all the way from Austin, Texas for a visit. We had a lot of fun.

 

I knew he was a long-time reader of this blog thingy.

Also, he had mentioned that he had donated to my GoFundMe. But I found no such donations from him.

“I might have done them anonymously.”

That meant that I had no way to connect the dots. Nor to even thank him. GFM doesn’t have a way to thank Anonymous.

When he was back in Texas, Brian forwarded all his GF receipts. Golly. Brian has been very generous over the years. I replied that, had I known this in advance, I would have:

“Spent even more hours with you [his tour lasted 5 hours]. And made you a pizza! Shined your shoes, too! And invited you to spend the night in the Octagon Suite! You never even saw the basement of the Cross House! You didn’t ask to see the Carriage House! I’d have happily shown you all of it! Even the cistern! Now, you need to come back for another tour!”

Brian said he would likely make another pilgrimage. I will have to stock up on some red carpet.

    Hey, that’s me! It was an honor to finally see the Cross House (and Ross, of course) in person. We even discovered an oddity or two that I suspect will make its way into a blog post at some point…
