AN INTERGALACTIC TRANSMITTER up close…
Yesterday, I did a post about the intergalactic transmitter on top of the Cross House turret.
Would you like to se it up close?
Considering that the finial intergalactic transmitter has been left outside for 122-years, it does not look too bad. It is about 5-1/2-feet-high. Geez. It does not look so big four stories in the air.
The tippy-top is pretty amazing. All hand-done. And kinda a mess. It is banged up, held together with baling wire, and coated with hard caulk. What a mess.
There are numerous missing bits on the bottom, and missing spheres just above. The whole thing is hand made.
And a dent. How does something high up in the air get dented? Hit by a low-flying plane? Drunk aliens?
My plan was to clean up the transmitter, repair what I can, paint it, and then have it reinstalled.
One cannot really see all the issues with it being so far off the ground.
But I will know. I will know. And this knowledge will eat at me.
Sigh.
So, I am going to contact WF Norman. They are not far away, and could repair the finial transmitter. It would be cool to assure it another century. Of course, I am sure the estimate will give me a heart-attack. Even if I could scrounge up the funds, how can I justify the expense when there are 3,746 other really pressing things?
Oh, the trials of owning a big ol’ fabulous house. Amy, you know just what I am talking about!
WF Norman is only 2 hours and 19 minutes from the Cross House!
Of course, while I know WF Norman repairs finials, the big question is: can they restore an intergalactic transmitter?

Have you forgotten that you live in Kansas? How many wind and hail storms this finial must have experienced over the last 122 years…it’s a wonder that it still exists. Hopefully the restoration expense will be less than you expect…

That intergalactic transmitter needs some fine tuning, then you should be able to communicate with the very far off, distant, remote intergalactic neighbours!
