Before. After.

Pitiful…yet interesting. This 1930s chandelier had unusual black glass components, and clear glass Hobnail bits. The original candle covers were, sadly, too far gone.

Wow.

Originally, the metal components (mostly brass) were chrome-plated. The chrome (which does not age well) had largely worn off leaving, IMO, a lovely and rich patina of aged brass with silvery accents. I carefully polished all this. And love the results!

A black glass ‘beehive’!

More way cool black glass.

The fixture is not large (at 16-wide) so is ideal for, say, a small dining room, bedroom, or foyer. I can also envision the chandelier in one of those 1930s bathrooms with colorful tiles trimmed in black.

That is an amazing transformation. I love it, it’s the perfect time period for my house but it’s too small for my dining room. The proportion is way off. I think those spacers would be Candlewick, not Hobnail.

That WOULD look great in a bathroom with vintage black tile accents!
    Love thinking outside the box!
