Of addition note:
Y’all will recall how much work I did in the corner regarding the built-in gutter.
Since doing all that work we have had almost no rain. But…on Tuesday it rained and rained and rained so when I arrived at the house I ran up and onto the porch roof, STAT. Had all my work been for naught?
I hate naught.
But…no. No!
There was no water pouring over the cornice. There was no water leaking out from behind the shingles on the wall to the left (this was VERY bad). The removal of the downspout (which was causing damage to the porch roof, and to its built-in gutter) seemed to be OK.
Whew!
CAVEAT: The rain was not intense at the time. So, I will need to do An Intense inspection to feel truly victorious.

Yes, Blair, the pipe is sealed inside! No bats or wasps or aliens can take residence into the soffits.
