CH: Day 150

I posted this picture yesterday. Today, using a very sharp scraper, I was able to remove all the old lead-based paint without causing dust or errant paint bits. The paint stripper gel held tight to the dangerous lead. After removing most of the gel, I took each board to the slop sink and vigorously scrubbed. All 18 boards are now standing vertically to dry.

I lured friend and neighbor Eric to help install a mini-roof scaffolding to allow the final work on the Violation Notice.

The work entails repairing where I removed a brick chimney in 2021. Finish line here I come!

So great to see all the progress you’ve made! I have someone coming Thursday to estimate capping my brick chimney hoping that it’s in good enough shape to do this. You inspire me I need to tackle painting my front porch next spring, have learned a lot from your experience and will strip using gel to minimize dust and make sure to wear protective gear.

Wow. You will have something significant to celebrate at the New Year. I think you are going to be done by then.

That’s the kitchen, right? The roofline looks a bit odd. Is there a story behind that?
