  1. Greetings from Bangkok, Thailand.
I stumbled upon your site a few months ago and just love the checking up on the restoration. It reminds me of when I was back living in Chicago restoring my old 27 room, 1883 Italianate home.

I have a question that might sound a bit odd but was said to me some 12 years ago, by my very gifted painter… “Have you thought about doing a little gold leaf on some of the details?” I remember thinking EWWW when the painter suggested this. Let me tell you, he was so right. My color scheme was a mix of ocher green, light olive and a verde/black on the windows and the little gold accent just made everything sing…. Thanks for allowing us to share in your amazing project.

  2. Looking good Ross! Question 4 U. The three arch windows next to your white screen door. What room is that? I hope the storms pass by you so you have the wonderful sunshine to complete this phase of your painting.

    • That’s the first floor of the stair hall/grand foyer. That area is open to the second floor. The little round window just to the right of the three arched windows is the telephone closet. To the left of the screen door is the dining room. To the right of the fireplace is the round receiving room.
