This made me smile. So far, Bill isn’t too bothered by the booms. I am going to close the windows and doors. Best to you and your kitties. I just read the end of 2017 post and so concur with all you said. We have a better world now. But I’m still scared. Happy Fourth!

Last Monday through a series of connected websurfing events I ended up on the website of the shelter from which Diana pawPrints and her Mother and siblings were rescued. I looked at their adoptable animals. There was a Keeshond mix listed as Husky/Shepherd mix who had been there five days and was already on death row.
!!!!!
100 phone calls in 50 min. the following morning “Grey” was being held for me and Diana and I were driving North for three hours to have a meet and greet. And hour and $80 later Grey was sleeping in the back seat while we drove south.
Grey is no Freyja and has already learned her name and is coming along with “sit” very nicely. She was already house trained but is not leash trained and knew no commands. She also doesn’t know how to play with other dogs or play with toys. Diana is teaching her.
Lucky for me and for them both, neither cares about Fireworks. There is no flinching, no recognition whatsoever. Hopefully that also means no reaction to thunder or sirens.
Freyja is learning about toys from Diana and has already taken to the hand-me-down Coolaroo bed from my parents.
So Happy 4th to all and happy rest of your life to Freyja. She has no idea how close she came to riding the fireworks to Colorado.
LOL. At least she/he? doesn’t have a catnip problem! 🙂
