Inching Along

Being high up on scaffolding is an ideal way to self isolate.

We are living in very strange times.

Be safe my dear ones. Be safe.

And you as well. Take care.

I cannot tell you how much I look forward to your posts. A much needed reprieve from the daily news, and an inspiration. Thank you and be careful out there!

    The end is nigh!

(Reshingling – not the world 😉)

You be safe as well. These are strange times indeed. I hate to see what is coming, but we’ll make it through.

    Same to you, Ross.

I have found your blog hilarious and recently. There are some strange parallels in our lives. I bought a distressd duplex in 2014. The house is in Detroit. Your Aunt Mabel lived in a duplex in Detroit. I have been rehabbing the house, love the house, and am trying to restore her to her former glory. It is only 1800 square feet. Tiny by comparison.

Nice to meet you, Therese !

We are also both the same age!

    Ross,
Therese here. I noticed, with envy, your scaffolding. DO you have a book that would teach me how to safely make some like it. I am removing some unfortunate green siding covering still good cedar shakes. The ladder is limiting. I am 63.

Hi, Therese! I almost never use a ladder. I purchased my scaffolding used. You might some some on Craig’s List. Good luck!

Interesting way to keep your 6′ of separation! Just go up vertically! You are always innovating good solutions. . .keep well!

I just want you to know that I’ve had all the rain sent to Ohio just so you can finish painting… Of course I have a bog in the backyard but it will be worth it to see the finished section of the Cross House!

    • Ross on March 20, 2020 at 9:29 am

How very sweet of you, Linda!

Stay safe, and keep us posted on your progress. Your house is a welcome respite from an increasingly dark and troubling world…a reminder to us that, as bad as things may be, happiness and good times can be restored if we all pull together.

What a great bunch you all are. I love it here! Stay safe and well.

I found your site a month ago after seeing your interview on circa old house. I’ve been binge reading ever since. Sadly, I finished today. I guess now I’ll have to wait for your posts like everyone else. If I knew how bad things were going to get I would have paced myself. I love the beautiful job you’re doing on the Cross house so keep it up and I’ll be patiently waiting.

Ross, I just watched your Circa interview on youtube (yet again. I think this is my fourth or fifth time) and I’m again struck by your marvelous attitude. In these difficult times it’s delightful to have your blog to retreat to for inspiration and hope. Bless you for all of your hard work, your remarkable viewpoint and your unflagging willingness to let us come along for the ride. Lots of love from Mississippi!
