Poison Update
As y’all know, in August I discovered that I had lead poisoning.
I learned that 3.5 is normal. Anything above 5 is considered a concern.
And mine?
13.4. I abruptly stopped scraping off old lead paint from the Carriage House.
A month later I had another test. The number had dropped to 11.6.
In December I learned that my latest test was 9.2.
In short, I was doing the right thing. In, maybe, six or so months my lead level should be normal.
Today? New test results: 5.8.
Ross VERY happy.

Bravo Ross!
Welcome news! Is the number expected to continue dropping?
Fantastic!!
Super happy for you!
Heading in the right direction. Well done.
Yay!
That’s great Ross, keep up the safety regiment as far as your lead level goes. You’ll be back to 3.5 before you know it.
Sorry to hear..
Lead poisoning is serious. I had it as a child growing up in an old
house. Please get proper gear, masks etc for continuing your work,
unfortunate by product of caring for old houses, but precautions
are possible and necessary. Take care.
Ross, in the interest of long life and your health, isn’t chelation therapy still a thing? I heard of that a long time ago. I don’t remember what the compound is but it binds to the lead in your body and is excreted. You may want to ask your doctor about it.
That is wonderful news. I’ll bet by August you’re down to the 3s. Maybe even by June.
Bravo Ross!
I’m so glad the blood lead level is moving in the right direction!
Hooray! Levels continue to plummet! At this rate by the summer, your lead levels will be back within the normal ranges. Good to know that the PPE is working, and keeping you safe and allowing the lead levels to continue to drop. PPE is so important even if it is a pain!
Good work Ross. I am so relieved that your lead numbers are going down.
Congratulations. Another challenge taken on and winning.
What utterly excellent news!!!!!!
Excellent news! Now to steer clear of the “lurgey” 🙂
