Poison Update
As y’all know, in August I discovered that I had lead poisoning.
I learned that 3.5 is normal. Anything above 5 is considered a concern.
And mine?
13.4. I abruptly stopped scraping off old lead paint from the Carriage House.
A month later I had another test. The number had dropped to 11.6.
Today I learned that my latest test was 9.2.
In short, I am doing the right thing. In, maybe, six or so months my lead level should be normal.
For all my many years I never ever never ever thought that vinyl siding might save my life.

Excellent progress. Seems no matter what you do, the one thing both The Cross House and Carriage House teach you is patience.
So very, very happy to hear this. It amazes me that you’ve been able to carry on with the house(s) through all your health challenges.
My word! Kudos!
According to Google, your level is now no longer “elevated.” Except when you’re on a ladder, which you should also avoid.
I believe that most of us early to the restoration obsession thoughtlessly took risks–I low-crawled under my house slopping a diesel/pentachlorophenol mixture on decaying joists I was sistering.
Your elevated levels in spite of sensible precautions are dismaying evidence that even the prudence and experience of age do not always protect against risks.
The things we do for love!
