Small Excitements

Something new arrived today. Something blue.

I wanted to add an unexpected color and thought: Blue candlesticks! An alert was sent to Kenny, STAT!

And he found this sweet pair on eBay. For just $15! I am thrilled! Thanks, Kenny!

Justin corralled the PEX piping into order on the third floor. SQUEE!!!!!!!!

Remember?

OMG. I’m agog at the transformation. Soon to come: Black picture rail and reset tiles! I am soooooo in love with the Bradbury wallpaper. The library is turning out so much more elegant and fabulous than I ever imagined. What is particularly delicious is how inexpensive it has all been.

Man, this house polishes up like Marble. I can’t wait to see the continuing transformation unfolding.

Ross, you continue to amaze me! I always struggle to “see” your vision in the beginning, I’m a very visual type of individual, but the end product is always so wonderfully unique and beautiful! You are a master of your craft, Sir.

Suggest you shift that beautiful vase a wee bit to the left, toward the yellow. It’s almost disappearing into the nearly matching wallpaper. Otherwise, what a lovely, lovely display.

Our identical family mantel clock (great-grandparents’) sits proudly alone on a bookshelf by Sister’s fireplace. Doesn’t work right now, but we have hopes of finding a repairer someday. When it worked, it kept perfect time.

The Cross House and its artist owner are definitely on the top of my bucket list…

Beauty on a budget – right down my alley! And doing my own work, as much as possible, saves much moola – which means more for beauty!

The wrangling of the PEX is amazing. I’m afraid of it. I know it meets code, at least in some places and has history of success, but I’m still afraid of it.

I don’t think you are going to be happy with the black picture rail. It is going to be a bit too bold and stick out a bit. Gold would be too weak and get lost next to the yellow. Have you considered a burgundy that would pick up the fireplace tiles and the color in the chairs?
