I 97% believe Trump (and Putin) will try and steal the election. I mean, actual votes.
And that is what I think has now happened.
My fear for the entire world is…great.

I agree. I can’t believe so many fools voted for him. I’m so sorry!
Americans. Such easy prey.
I fear it as well. I think about Ukraine…..but I refuse to embrace fears . I will embrace the joy I can find in life. This too shall pass…
Thank you, Jean.
I think NATO will really step up to protect Ukraine. This will be vital for all of Europe.
I hope.
I feel so sorry for USA. I don’t know how i can help from France, so i send you all my love. I’m very disappointed with this result. The World can fear the next 4 years.
Thank you. Your support means everything today.
I’m very afraid for the next french election. I’m worried i will be in your position soon. The World become a sad place, little bit by little bit… We need to stay together and hope and work for the best.
I had weird nightmares all njght. Then I woke up and am now just SO …I have no words.
My opinion of my fellow Americans is low. My dad always said,” You can’t fight “stupid”.
4 years of stupid, scary, and embarrassing all for us to live through and the world to see.
And it’s not like things will be better if trump has a stroke because vance is next. It’s incomprehensible to me. I’ve always been called the Queen of Doom–at least my two grandchildren gave me full body hugs this morning. I either see some whiskey, some gummies and a whole lot of mashed potatoes or we rant and rave and roll up our sleeves for what we can do for the Resistance.
Let’s keep our heads down and prepare for the worst.
Same.
Ross I think you are expressing what so many are feeling today. I refuse to let my fears run rampant, though I agree with your thinking. I believe this was the “surprise” Trump referred to not long ago. I did my part by voting but as an out gay man my concerns run deep. I plan to avoid social media for a while for my mental health. As you so rightly pointed out, this doesn’t just effect Americans, but the whole world.
I am also in fear for the entire world. I am not sure where – if anywhere – it would be safe to move. We have probably destroyed ourselves as humans. I now just want to live as long as my cat does so he doesn’t become an orphan.
I had a hard time getting to sleep last night after watching election results and this morning I wake up to this horrible news. I can’t believe it, something is wrong. I hope an investigation into the election results starts soon. I remember one of Trump’s rallies a week or two ago (can’t remember which one) He looked at Mike Johnson and said we have a secret don’t we, you’ll find out what it is in a little while. God help us all.
Kelley Hunt shared this quote today, and it sums up how I’m feeling: “I had an idea of America. I was wrong. But I still love my idea, and maybe I’m only wrong at this moment in history. I may not live long enough to see the full recovery but I’m determined my grandchildren will. Resist what is about to come. I’m with you.” – Rosanne Cash
That’s lovely.
Thanks, Barb!
Unlike so many who voted (and didn’t vote at all) I remember what it was like the first time. I also suspected how much worse it would be a second time.
I cannot believe so many greedy, stupid and bigoted people voted for him. They are going to whine when they lose their healthcare and their Social Security. My only enjoyment will be to scream “TOLD YOU SO” to their faces.
I will miss my house but I am strongly considering selling everything and taking the dogs to Canada with me. Already looking at real estate in British Columbia. $20 says I’m not the only one that stayed up late last night doing the same.
And we all thought Bush was bad.
I’m in Canada and I don’t think we are safe here either. Russia to our north, and the US to our south (with a madman for a leader). And a mini-Trump Conservative leader trying to emulate the same rhetoric.
I am probably still in a state of shock, but I still cannot believe that he got the popular vote. How is that possible? In my head all I can think is – this shallow, thin-skinned, narcissistic sociopath couldn’t tolerate winning just through the Electoral College – he had to have what Hillary Clinton got in 2016. It’s almost as if he whined for it, and he got it.
I can become a citizen of the EU by getting an Italian passport. I’m wondering if that might be worth the investment. I have cousins in German and Italy. Getting the dogs there would be expensive but either on one of those special charter planes for dogs or by boat with me is certainly doable. Easier than limiting my worldly possessions to one shipping container.
I have a vivid imagination and score high in abstract logic. I don’t think anyone has a clue how bad it will be under President Felon. Stephen Miller and Elon Musk basically in charge while the criminal fiddles, er, plays golf while “Rome” burns.
He is going to make money hand over fist selling our resources out to line his pockets, letting anyone right laws for a buck and selling all of our classified secrets.
He’s not going to leave after 4 years. He’ll never leave. The only way we will be rid of him is feet first or they 25th him so Shady Vance can sign off on everything in Project 25. They’ve got the Senate and if they get the House it will be the toilet trifecta.
Get ready for Supreme Court Justice Aileen Cannon to replace Clarence Thomas.
I saw a bit on Jon Stewart last week, he’s freaking out that trump has won the election, in a dream or something. A cast member walks out and asks him what he’s got to be worried about, he’s a rich white guy. He mumbles something and she says “you gotta put your arms around the people who need it and carry the fuck on.” I’m gonna try.
That’s all any of us can really do. Knowing we’re not alone helps a bit.
I suspect that Musk has something to do with it. When poll watchers everywhere were talking about the unusually large turnout for Democrats, and then Kamala loses by millions of votes? I don’t think so…
